My baby boy is no more...

My baby boy is now a BIG boy and I just got rid of a major part of his baby boy life.
I sold his toddler car bed and crib mattress!
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=360018236978
I didn't feel this way when he transitioned from the crib to his other toddler bed, or from his toddler bed to this car bed. I got sentimental today when we hauled this thing out to the trailer to meet the winning bidder. It looked so small next to my son. He climb up on it for the last time and laid down. His feet hung over one end and his head touch the other end.
So now he's in a FULL size (or double) bed and it will be his last bed until he's moved out and on with his grown up life. It's sad how fast the days go by...I just want my 12 pound Hulk back in his crib!

Cool Kid Stuff - Helpful Too!

You've heard of the Plumber Butt and Saggy Rear Syndrome right?

You haven't?!!

Your kids must be the perfect size for whatever age they are....mine are NOT! That is why I decided to do a little research online. I got so tired of pulling my two kids pants up all the time. We had belts (well my son did anyway) but those belts were such a pain to use...especially when potty training :( In my research I found these really cool belts made by Quickbelts (formerly known as Beltkro). I love these belts....my kids love these belts, and most importantly my sanity loves these belts!

They are super cool, you just put them through the belt loops, slide one end through the other and then velcro them closed. My 4 yr old and my 2 yr old can do this all by themselves....great for independence AND self esteem.

I can do it!!!

Ohh the things kids say and do!!

This morning I am checking my emails and all of a sudden I hear a VERY excited cry of "I can do it, I can do it!!!" coming from the stairs. It's my daughter Brodie Mae. I didn't know what all the fuss was about so I asked her "What can you do?" She immediately responds with "Nuffin'"

LOL!!! It took all I had not to fall in the floor from laughing so hard. She's 2, so I should have seen that coming right??!!

Kid's are the coolest ;)

Jewelry Sets - Jewelry Just for Her~ Handcrafted Beaded Jewelry for Kids

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Isn't this the cutest set of jewelry ever??!! Ok for a 2 year old it's the cutest ever, right?
I just placed the order for this through Ronda at http://www.jewelryjustforher.com and I mentioned that my daughter is really tiny. Ronda immediately emailed me back and said she could customize the bracelet to fit if I wanted. YES, I gave her Brodie's measurement and she's working on it! I can't wait to get this in the mail :)

Thank you Ronda!

Product Reviews for Moms

I've been thinking of adding product reviews to the blog. The reviews would be done as I get the products, and would blend in with my other blog posts. I of course wouldn't charge anything to do the reviews (if you send me a product, I would be crazy to charge you!) and i'd place your banner or link in the review for others to check it out. So to everyone reading this, do you think it's something I should offer?
I know how hard it can be to work from home and get the word out about your website or product, and this would be a GREAT low cost way for other moms to do that. It would also be a great way for other moms to see and hear how those products work before purchasing them.
Well, it's a thought...what do you think?

Woe is me!!

Ughhhh, the past 2 days have not been so good. I hurt my foot somehow and i'm hobbling around as best I can. The kid's know I am hurting, but they use this to their advantage. Yes, they seem to think that if i'm in pain and can't chase after them, they can go hog wild!! I've got news for them, as soon as i'm better it's payback! LOL
So i'm sitting here, working on the website, checking emails and praying the pain goes away. I did get a little giggle this morning. A lady in one of my groups sent this email. It's too cute not to pass along.

KIDS IN CHURCH

3-year-old Reese:"Our Father, Who does art in heaven, Harold is His name.Amen."
~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~
A little boy was overheard praying:"Lord, if you can't make me a better boy, don't worry about it. I'm having a real good time like I am."
~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~
After the christening of his baby brother in church, Jason sobbed all the way home in the back seat of the car. His father asked him three times what was wrong. Finally, the boy replied,"That preacher said he wanted us brought up in a Christian home, and I wanted to stay with you guys."
~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~
One particular four-year-old prayed, "And forgive us our trash baskets as we forgive those who put trash in our baskets."
~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~
A Sunday school teacher asked her children as they were on the way to church service, "And why is it necessary to be quiet in church?" One bright little girl replied,"Because people are sleeping."
~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~
A mother was preparing pancakes for her sons, Kevin 5, and Ryan 3 The boys began to argue over who would get the first pancake. Their mother saw the opportunity for a moral lesson. "If Jesus were sitting here, He would say, 'Let my brother have the first pancake, I can wait.' Kevin turned to his younger brother and said, "Ryan, you be Jesus!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~
A father was at the beach with his children when the four-year-old son ran up to him, grabbed his hand, and led him to the shore where a seagull lay dead in the sand."Daddy, what happened to him?" the son asked. "He died and went to Heaven," the Dad replied.
The boy thought a moment and then said, "Did God throw him back down?"
~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~
A wife invited some people to dinner. At the table, she turned to their six-year-old daughter and said, "Would you like to say the blessing?". "I wouldn't know what to say," the girl replied. "Just say what you hear Mommy say," the wife answered. The daughter bowed her head and said, "Lord, why on earth did I invite all these people to dinner?"
~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~
And if you don't send this to at least 8 people ----- who cares?! Peace, love and happiness!!

I needed a giggle today...this did the trick :)

Who am I and what do I like?

Yes, I know that if you are looking at my blog, you most likely have read my profile. I just wanted to go into a little detail here...hope you don't mind! :)

I have 2 children who are my life. Brodie Mae is 2 now and Aiden is 4. I'd do anything for them (ok, within reason) and they are the reason I wanted to be a stay at home mom. I also have other "loves". I have a really great man, his name is Don. He has always been there for me and he puts up with a lot of my "creative ideas". He's a great supporter and we love him lots!

I also have my own website selling gifts for all occasions. It's called Brodie Girl Boutique. I just love anything personalized or unique and so that is why I chose this niche as a business. With all the routine things we parent's go through on a daily basis, it's nice to have something different and personal.

I also love photography, and someday I will have my dream camera!! Here's a shot of a sunflower we grew in our backyard.

I also love to cook, which inspired me to start my own small garden this year. I had tomatoes, sweet basil, cilantro, watermelon, and oregano. I did say it was a small garden! The cilantro and tomatoes were great for making my homemade salsa. Mmmmmm, love salsa and chips!

We have 2 dogs. They are Boxers. Laila Ali is a white female, and she is deaf. Jigsaw, AKA Jiggy, is a Brindle male. They are very sweet dogs and they love the kids! Any other Boxer lovers out there?

Well, I think that about covers it! Me in a nutshell ;) Any questions? Feel free to comment!

About me, Jess

I know this is a little strange for my 1st post, but I feel like this hit the nail on the head. It's a personality test called Visual DNA. Scary how accurate it is!
